The Cobbydale Singers were formed in 1994 by Elaine Isherwood and Christine Barrett, who are old school friends and have been involved in choral singing since they met at the age of 11.  They formed The Cobbydale Singers to entertain a disabled group in their home town of Silsden, West Yorkshire.  From that engagement more interest was shown in the ensemble and their popularity has grown over the last twenty years and now they regularily perform in the Airedale and Craven area.
Although most of their concerts are local they have performed at venues further afield.  In 2002 they travelled to Pforzheim, Germany.  They were invited as guests of The Blumenheck Mixed Voice Choir.  Over their five day visit they gave four performances including a concert at a music festival in the Black Forest.
In 2005 The Cobbydale Singers were invited to sing in The Isle of Man as guests of The Ramsey Ladies Cushag Choir,  giving performances in Douglas and Ramsey
